The AMERICAN WOMAN Project is a multimedia portrait and documentary series that aims to reframe what we think of when we hear the descriptor “American woman” to include Black American women.This project was partially funded by the Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh grant and Safety Pin Box. AMERICAN WOMAN is being realized as a series of mixed/multi-media portraits and mini-documentaries by creative director and photographer Sarah Huny Young.
